Much of our artwork hangs on our walls and the walls of a few close friends. We thought that keeping it somewhere more public might be a good idea. So here is that more public place....

I am disappointed in my use of value in this painting. The colors in the lower 2/3 of the painting just blend into the dark value. It feels unbalanced with the very light sky and the very dark lower portion. You can almost miss the water. If you look at the full size image, you can see the brush strokes. This is the thick paint with vivid colors that I enjoy so much.

This was inspired by a photograph we took in the Sawtooth Mountains, ID. I tried to incorporate some Christmas themes into the landscape painting.
