I did this shortly after returning from a vacation through northern Italy. Everywhere we went there were these exploding flower boxes outside windows. This is loosely taken from a photograph we took in Venice, but really could be from anywhere. A fun part of this painting was that I did it entirely without brushes, just knives, which was a first for me.
